Unwrapping Christmas presents.

more)
This site is about our escape from reality as we sail the Caribbean. Right now we are back home on Bainbridge Island to add a new crew member. Hello to our friends and family! If you found this site by accident or invite:
Welcome, we hope you're interested in our getaway & baby. |

Interested in a Home Exchange?
We'd Like to Trade Homes with You!
If you'd like to experience the Pacific Northwest for a few weeks we'll
trade our beautiful house on the water for yours. Hopefully you have a fabulous villa in
Tuscany, Paris condo or ski lodge in the Alps but we're interested in most
anything. See
pictures of our home here and let us know where you live and when you'd be
interested in trading.

St. Lucia, Martinique & The Saints
We met our new guests, Mike and Lisa in St. Lucia. We stayed
four days enjoying a dramatic setting in a windswept bay beneath the
Pitons, then moving to Rodney Bay Marina where bakeries and great food
abound. (more)

Our Boat Ellos
At the request of our visitors we added many more pictures and a virtual
tour of our boat Ellos. If you've wondered what a cruising sailboat is
like have a look and wonder no more. (more)

Pictures of our Guests
Carla's family was on board with us, then our friends Mike and Lisa - what a
blast! Here are some pics. (more)

Life in Trinidad
As we refit our boat in Chaguaramas we've come to enjoy life here.
We've added a picture gallery of the Farmer's Market, information about
Trinidad and updated our boat page. (more)

Tobago for the Holidays
Right now we're at Store Bay, Tobago for Christmas and New Years. Not
that it feels much like Christmas, hot and sunny with hummingbirds flitting
about. It's a difficult full day's sail here from Trinidad against the
trades and currents so we took a 20 minute plane flight instead. We're in a Cabana on the beach
at Crown Point Hotel taking a break from working on our boat.

Refit of Ellos
Even though our boat
was set up for cruising before we bought her she still needed some work before going off shore. We've been cleaning her up and adding
comforts. The main investment was a rebuild of the diesel engine,
but we also commissioned new canvas and sails,
enhancements to the electrical systems and lots of little maintenance items. (more)

Chaguaramus,
Trinidad
Last June we bought our boat in Trinidad where some of the best boatyards in the
Caribbean are located. It's not a pretty place but ideal for refitting
a yacht. If you're familiar with Seattle, think of the ship canal in
Ballard or the Harbor Island industrial area, but with a jungle behind you. (more)
