About
Us
Who We Are
We're a married couple who for over 10 years dreamed about
changing our lives so we could go sailing. We worked hard, saved our money and are now taking time
off to live our dream.
Both of us are from the Pacific Northwest, Carla grew up in Port Angeles,
Ross in Seattle. We met in the MBA program at Seattle University
almost 15 years ago. In our first year of marriage we bought a 30'
Santana. We've sailed our much loved boat in races, to Desolation
Sound and even lived on her while we remodeled our house. We still own
her, although we bought a much bigger boat for our current adventure.
For many years Carla was a top agent with John L. Scott Real Estate in
Bellevue. When we moved to Bainbridge Island she was invited to join Windermere
Real Estate and quickly established herself there. Ross started a software
company in 1996 to
develop an interactive merchandising system for apparel manufacturers. In 1999 a New York
apparel systems company, Computer Generated
Solutions acquired
Ross's business and brought him on to manage it, which he still does today
even from our boat.
Our home is on Bainbridge Island, although we currently have house
sitters taking care of it while we sail the Caribbean on our new boat Ellos,
a 42' Hallberg-Rassy Ketch.

Home in the Pacific Northwest
We spent almost two years on a major remodel of an old farm house on
Bainbridge Island. Here are some before and after pictures.
When we look at these we can't understand what we were thinking back then,
any intelligent couple would have torn it down and started again!

Supportive Friends & Families
We both have wonderful supportive families and friends who were excited for
us and encouraging about our plans. Here are some pictures of our
them.

Prior Careers
Both of us led responsible lives having gone to work every day and
developed our careers. We intend to get back to them when we return,
but for now they're on hold. If you're curious about what we used to
do, here it is. (more

Our Pets
One of the most difficult thing to leave behind was our two pets, Alex Kitty and
Molly Beagle. These little
creatures have become really important to us. The house sitters are
watching over them and they're fine, but we miss them. (more
